IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern

Both the prelims and the main exams are held online. The applicant has to answer multiple-choice questions.

In the prelims exam, the candidate has to answer 30 questions of 30 marks in the English Language section.

Then, they have to answer 35 questions of 35 marks in the Numerical Ability section.

Lastly, they have to answer another set of 35 questions of 35 marks in the Reasoning Ability Section.

The candidate has to answer the 100 marks test in one hour. 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer.

Points to Remember

To get ready for the prelims, the candidate should take note of the following points.

This exam is a qualifying round exam so that the candidate can move on to the final level. Passing the prelims alone does not guarantee a job.

The candidate has to complete each of the three sections of the exam- English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Numerical Ability- in sets of twenty minutes each.

Each section has sectional cut-off marks. So the candidate should do as well as possible in all three sections.

Once the candidate qualifies in the prelims, they can appear in the IBPS Mains. If they qualify in the mains, then they will get shortlisted in the final list after a thorough evaluation.

Candidates should take regular mock tests to qualify for the prelims and get acquainted with the question pattern.
